Alps Blockchain in Middle East

Mining farm at Green Data City

Alps Blockchain's global journey reaches the Middle East, with the construction of a sophisticated mining farm in Oman, within the Green Data City technology hub.

The Green Data City initiative is part of the Oman Vision 2024 outlined by the Sultanate of Oman, a strategic plan that is guiding the country towards digital transformation and a future characterised by economic development, innovation and sustainability.

Green Data City
and Oman Vision 2040

Green Data City is a hub located in the south of Oman, operated by the eponymous Green Data City LLC, a pioneer in sustainable mining in the region. Operational since 2022, it is the first entity in the country to hold a licence for sustainable cryptocurrency mining.

The developing project aims to increase mining capacity to 400 MW by incorporating innovative natural cooling solutions, the use of renewable energy and the integration of downstream applications, setting a benchmark in clean technology and creating a new ecosystem for data and blockchain in the region.

A shared commitment

In the overall design of the Green Data City project, the established mining farm reflects not only the search for the best efficiency but also the desire to promote increasingly sustainable business practices. Political stability, the security offered by the Green Data City licence, and the Omani government's ambitious plan to develop renewable energy sources play a key role in this scenario in the pursuit of Oman's national goals for a more diversified economy that is less dependent on fossil fuels.
