Bitcoin mining has become increasingly sustainable in the wake of rising asset prices.

The latest report published on 18 January 2022 by the Bitcoin Mining Council (BMC) indicates that between the first and fourth quarters of 2021, the sustainable electricity use of bitcoin increased by 58.96 per cent, from 36 per cent to 58.5 per cent.

The council, which comprises 36 Bitcoin mining organisations, stated that the companies under the body recorded a sustainability rate of 66.1% in 2021.
